Father's words

"When a father speaks, may his children hear the love in his voice above all else."

I am sure, everyone would have words of wisdom that they keep close to their heart, passed over from the previous generation. And let me take some pride in sharing the anecdotes I hold close to my heart.

1. The first job I had grabbed after college, was with Emirates Airlines, in Dubai. What my father said was, 'never feel regret like this is not related to Computer Science and don't ever misuse the knowledge you gain at your workplace'.

2. I was facing a really tough time, after I had to accept the sickness that my father had gone through, that sorrow had entered into my heart. He said 'Never feel upset dear child'.

3. Quarrels or bad behaviors when he had witnessed from me, 'he would request to walk away, and say what I am doing is incorrect.'

4. The pride in his eyes, when he had visited the Emirates office, the first job I had gained experience in.

5. He used to share a lot of insight about the way I had studied, hard work and struggle for passing exams to many of his junior colleagues at work. Now when I look back, he intended to compliment in an indirect manner.

6. He was always truly supportive and willing to provide any part of his soul's energy to make the desire to study, or buy a book and fulfil any need I had while I was doing my studies.

7. So much of love and confidence, he used to describe that 'all the flight tickets were sponsored by Nisha, because of my job'.

8. Whenever I face any big trouble or negative situation after marriage, or at this middle age, he still understands inside his heart, that I need some help and compassionately shows strength for the difficult times.

9. One stressful period of his life, I had started working by then in Dubai, he did want to give up the role of sharing the ownership to the printing press, but he couldn't let go; was facing some dilemma. He used to have a bad leg ache and a migraine used to keep bothering him.

A lot of ups and downs in life he has handled, and still, never he left us as a family, lead our family in a really good shape. He never got to work and progress in the field, he really loved, that was the 'English Language'; but he never complained any situation or anyone.

Patiently and positively he went through life. I believe, everyone would have a parent who sacrificed a lot, showed the light to follow in life. If I didn't have him as my father, I am pretty sure I would not have learnt all the precious lessons and experiences.
