Reminiscences - BPDC
Life is much more precious than any big or small experience.
College life, for anyone who has been through that phase; is
an era filled with tons of stories to share.
And so is mine. It’s been a decade
since I passed out of the best years in my life.
Recollecting back, --- It has lots of
cupid-struck love stories to tell, breakups to witness, challenges/obstacles to
crossover, failures and successful moments in the end.
A particular love story I remember.
Let’s keep the name of
the boy and girl, as Naveen and Anjali.
(Like the saying goes – names changed for privacy purpose).
Naveen had a magnetic attraction for Anjali and she was part
of the other batch. He had picked up Electrical courses while she chose Computers as her major. He kept on finding ways to be her
good friend and finally moved into that title of being her best friend in college. The whole batch used to pull legs, make stories. Somehow, Anjali found a warm friendship in him,
and thought he was really sincere in heart and mind.
There was this other girl, Parvati who used to always remind
Anjali, don’t seek the friendship from a boy that too. You never know when the
story would turn its side. She used to think, that Parvati is behaving like her
mother, giving her ‘childish advices’.
‘Why bother to listen?’ was her attitude.
After two months or so, the 4th semester was coming to an end,
Anjali was shocked. She learnt that; that this boy took advantage of her,
acted out for her friendship. Feeling really terrible and completely lost her faith
in life.
Like any other college student, she was immersed in tears.
At the very moment, like a superhero, Parvati asked her to be strong, and
‘never be a failure in life and don’t seek emotional support. Be strong.’
Because as they say, ‘ Life is much more precious than’.....
The characters in this story, aren't purely fictional. They
have moved on to various phases in their life. But it’s funny to think back. And I am pretty sure, everyone who has crossed college, has something
to share – like I just did.
