Samskrithi
Always in life, there comes by a fraction of moment; that feels as though something big was achieved. The last Sunday, 21st October, was such a day.
As part of assisting
the teacher activities for Samskrithi class at the Krishna temple, close to
Thamanam, I was asked to prepare activities like storytelling, games and drama.
There’s more than a dozen children that attend this class every other Sunday.
Being a warm-hearted person myself, I eagerly look forward for this session.
The last class, was
special. It being the first after Vijayadashami holidays, the children looked
very jolly and excited.
Now, what do they learn, could be appropriate to think?
They learn points that could help in the overall development of their
personality. To summarize the last class, topics touched - the important values
in life, the power of mantras, the habit of being kind towards parents and if
not, why to mention ‘Sorry’. This time, they played a circle game and brain gym
steps with devotional singing.
The session ends with stories and snack
distribution as part of the games that kids play. And, the sound of children’s
laughter and joy ringed in the air of the huge temple hall. Some parents and onlookers looked with awe at the way these children enjoy life.
Isn’t this heaven
really?
