Mother’s dream
Dreams simply fade away. And, so with my mother’s dream to learn dance.
Somewhere the universe creates the vibration for accomplishing the desire of a parent’s heart. Here I am now, practicing the bharatnatyam adavus and trying hard to awaken classical dance hidden.
No one can really describe in words the bond
that a mother, can engrave in the mind of a child.
I always have a very warm space for my mother, that
I must say the divine choose a very special soul to adorn that role. This is a
very common feeling but does anyone realize that a mother could have an
unfulfilled dream due to reasons whatsoever.
And, so did my mother.
As a little girl, she was given the name,
Prasanna. Her delicate smile was liked by everyone and that describes her
unique name. Her family consisted of four sisters and one brother. The brother
being the youngest and brightest of all. My mother, shared a deep love for her parents and the whole of her sibilings, despite the difficulties she had to
survive through as a child. As a young girl, her father found it very tough to
make ends meet with the income through the work of an Art Professor.
It’s true that my grandfather, P.K.CJ was very
creative, full of ideas and enjoyed being in the role of an artist. But he gained
very little money, to support the needs of his family. Because of his problems,
my grandfather couldn’t experience a little peace. It did affect the family’s
wellbeing, but what could the children and wife have done? They simply accepted
the ups, downs and lived. One of my mother’s sister, grew up to be a very
compassionate holistic doctor, my mother completed her degree in commerce and
the youngest brother grew into a very successful engineer.
Looking back, and as I listen to childhood
stories narrated by my mother, life was indeed very tough. Because they went
through so much of struggle, pain as a child; life taught many lessons of pain,
patience, joy, acceptance, understanding and sharing.
