No Fingers

Few days back, something unique happened in my life. I was walking through the streets at MG Road, when a pile of books with a man beside caught my attention. I felt stuck for a moment.

Wait a minute. Pause.
Yes, this man who was selling the books had not even a finger in his hand. He made sure I got the best book from the collection and at the cheapest prize. This book that he had recommended was
'Who will cry when you die?'

Is it not a question, that we all have asked at least once. I believe, that crying wouldn't help the being that has passed away. Even though death, may seem like an end. But what religion and science has proven, is that there is a continuation after death. That we simply move into a different place.

What I was trying to say, is that the man with no fingers taught an important lesson. No matter what you are doing, try to be grateful for all the gifts showered. For there are many beings who would want the space that God has placed you with.

Many struggle, in front of your eyes
Many struggle, every other day with no solution
Many struggle, trying to find peace
Many struggle, when you can sleep with good dreams
Many struggle, because they do not have anyone to care
Many struggle, wanting to escape the knots of life
Many struggle, lacking the most basic needs
Many struggle, drop a tear when we search for joy
Many struggle, because life throws stones
Many struggle, wearing a smile even when their life may seem empty
Looking around, is it not that we have blessings more and troubles less.

Let's make a vow - To count our blessings in our daily life, that the troubles we face seem so light in weight. For every blessing, let's create a thought of peace and send it across high up in the air, so that bells ring in the space of Heaven.

Feel gratitude.
Join hands to find the blessings in your everyday life.

Light of Peace,
Nisha Unny
